Uber ice cream for good

Uber is back at it again with the delivery of sweet treats.

The ride service has teamed up with Lewis Road Creamery and Eat My Lunch to help those in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch indulge their sweet tooth for free tomorrow (15 July).

The ice cream flavour is being kept under wraps as it is a brand new one from the boutique dairy brand. For every request, one child who is part of the Eat My Lunch programme will receive a tub of it in their lunch.

To request a tub, Uber users need to enter the promo code ‘ICECREAMNZ’ and select the ICECREAM option when making the request. The promo will be running between 11am and 5pm.

This is not the first time Uber and Lewis Road have teamed up to deliver a dairy treat. Last year, Auckland users of the app could request a bottle of the limited edition Reindeer Milk that was otherwise only available in Blenheim.

Past campaigns for Uber have also seen cats delivered, in a partnership with the SPCA, and Giapo Ice Cream.

It also used its drivers to collect riders’ donations to the New Zealand Red Cross.
