Shaved backs and hairkinis deliver online safety message

Earlier this week, we saw Trade Me’s effort to educate New Zealanders about keeping safe online with a humorous clip of two men playing pool and some exaggerated scenarios.

Now, Hide My Ass! (HMA) is sharing a similar message but using nudity to do so. It’s released a four-and-a-half-minute video to educate viewers about the dangers of using public wifi.

Using a shaved back, the spokesperson demonstrates how “with public wifi, your device exchanges packets of data with the coffee shops router in the open, naked to the wandering eyes of hackers on the same wifi”.

He then goes on to rip the clothes off people in an airplane and library to explain how downloading HMA will cover that data and protect it from “peeping people”.
