Poultry and Polaroids

Worried about putting your greasy mitts all over your phone to take a photo while you’re munching on some dirty bird? Then this invention is not for you.

Canadian based agency Grip Limited teamed up with KFC Canada and developed a method to create physical fast food memories: integrating a printer to the much beloved KFC big bucket and using Bluetooth technology for ease of use.

Inspiration for the project came from the current generation of KFC fans lacking physical relics due to the increased adoption of smartphones and phasing out of film cameras. Or, as internet savant Vint Cerf calls it, bitrot (here’s a great podcast from On the Media on the possibility of entering a digital dark age and how we humans have never been very good at protecting important stuff).
