Look what the ’80s brewed up

Carlton Draught has just started rerunning a 30 second TVC that originally aired in the the 1980s. With an action packed montage, perfectly poured beers and an impossible amount of enthusiasm, there is a lot to love here. As Carlton Draught says:

Horses, moustaches and men. Beer advertising used to be so much easier.
We’ve dusted off this classic Draught ad to herald the relaunch of our 1970s can.

This is not the first time a beer brand has brought back a classic can design. Who could forget Steinlager’s campaign for the 2011 Rugby World Cup?

It’s a shame they didn’t rerun this little beauty instead though.

Steinlager also created this tongue in cheek cinema ad a little later on in the 1990s, titled “Stick to the Script”. Such fun.

The 1980s also gave us this little gem, straight out of the thriving metropolis that is Invercargill. Let’s hope Salon Kingsadore decides to re-run this for its next campaign.
