A drink with a side of safety message

Toronto whisky bar, The Emmet Ray, was serving more than just drinks on St Patrick's Day, as they came with a reminder not to drive under the influence.

In a partnership with Arrive Alive, an organisation that raises awareness of the risks of being an impaired driver, the bar put out metal coasters made from the remains of cars that had crashed.

“This coaster used to be a car. That never made it home,” the coasters read, to reinforce the consequences making a poor decision after drinking.

The bar and Arrive Alive shared the coasters on social media, generating plenty of support from followers and requests for the coasters to be shared with other bars.​
