Cutting the cord

Wires are so noughties. And, as speaker and headphone company JBL shows, they're bloody annoying too.

While we can certainly relate to such first world problems, we can't help but think that they could be placed in the 'people struggling to cope with everyday activities' category, something illustrated by this entertaining collection of infomercial struggles.

But what exactly is the lack of wires doing to our brains? A marketing stunt got worrywarts concerned after a clip of mobile phones popping popcorn went viral a few years ago, but even if phones did fry brains, the level of attachment people have to their devices these days means it's hard to believe they would put them down anyway.
