Who’s chosen Carat? Dick has

Carat recently had to say goodbye to 2degrees after Ikon won the business in a pitch. But it's made up for that loss with the recent addition of Dick Smith to the client roster.

Managing director Robert Harvey confirmed the agency had won the business, but was unable to comment further.

Carat also handles Dick Smith's media in Australia and while it's unclear if the decision to award the local business involved a pitch, it's thought the incumbent Ogilvy did present.

According to Nielsen AIS figures, Dick Smith had a ratecard spend of $16,162,903 in New Zealand between January 2012 and December 2012.

Harvey says it is currently in the process of finding a replacement for business director Gareth O'Connor, who is moving to the UK to take up a role with Phd working on the global Unilever account.
