Westfield gives DraftFCB early Christmas present

bryan-crawfordChristmas has come early for DraftFCB after it was confirmed the agency would take over the Westfield account from TBWA/TEQUILA.

DraftFCB chairman Bryan Crawford says the win “caps off a pretty bloody good year” for the agency, with Alac, National Bank, GJ Gardner and Video Ezy now on its books.

“It’s the icing on the cake for us,” he says, and he’s looking forward to doing some good work for Westfield in the near future.

An official release from DraftFCB is expected later today.

David Walden, CEO of the TBWA group, said in a press release that the company has enjoyed a “very productive and positive relationship with Westfield” and the agency is proud of the strong results and successful campaigns over the last three years.

TBWA repitched for the business, but a decision was made to conclude the partnership.

“They’ve decided they need a different style of agency and now that the cards have been dealt we wish them well for the future,” he says. “It’s a turbulent time in the industry and there is no agency in the country that’s immune to change. Client relationships are no different and while we’re sad to see Westfield go, we’re staying focused on seeing out the year strongly by producing the sort of creative work that has built our world class reputation.”
