TVCs of the Week: 8 April

Who's it for: Mitsubishi by Clemenger BBDO and Curious 

Why we like it: The Welly gang have been nailing New Zealandness recently. And they've done it again with this simple and entertaining spot for Mitsubishi's new plug-in hybrid. Nice pav. And always good to see locally-made car ads.  

Who's it for: Vero by Big and Finch

Why we like it: There's not much love for insurance companies, especially given the goings-on in Christchurch. But insurance does serve an important function in life and in business and this nicely shot spot connects the dots—and there are no bull puns in sight. 

Who's it for: Subaru by Barnes, Catmur & Friends and Flux

Why we like it: It's a simple retail ad with a man in a white coat, but unlike most simple retail ads with a man in a white coat, it features an aggressive voiceover.

‘There is a Survivor in all of us’ according to TVNZ’s latest campaign for the second season of Survivor New Zealand, which will start on Sunday at 7pm. And after whispers the show may not return after the first season struggled to retain its audience, the new season has been rejigged and is filled with comical controversy.
