TVCs of the Week: 4 November

Who’s it for: HPA by FCB and Robber’s Dog

Why we like it: From the ‘it’s so crazy it just might work’ file, these ridiculous send-ups of beer ads are ridiculously entertaining and, if it’s anything like the last campaign, humour could also have a serious impact and stop people drinking quite as much beer.

Who’s it for: Dulux by Clemenger BBDO and Finch

Why we like it: Clems and Dulux have made a few good lookin’ spots full of purty colours in the past and they’ve maintained the quality with the latest instalment. In a similar fashion to Honda’s recent colourful spot, it’s hard not to notice this one.

Who’s it for: NZ Fire Service (sort of) by Y&R

Why we like it: Also from the ‘so crazy it just might work’ file, ’tis a novel and ballsy move putting a spec ad for a potential client on TV rather than just showing it in a pitch. But kudos to Y&R for giving it a crack and backing themselves. If it works and they win the business, they might have started a trend.

Who’s it for: ASB by Saatchi & Saatchi

Why we like it: Not as cool as what Asics did for the New York Marathon, but it’s well shot, it’s a good rundown of the event, it was out the day after the race and it’s a good way to extend the bank’s naming rights sponsorship.
