TVCs of the Week: 15 December

Who it’s for: Air New Zealand by True and Exposure

Why we like it: Kids and Christmas makes for a classic advertising combo and this festive effort rounds out a stellar year of loveable stunts and ‘look at us, we’re so local’ branding efforts from Air New Zealand.

Who it’s for: Lotto NZ by DDB and Robber’s Dog

Why we like it: Some might see the evil side of promoting gambling to help family dreams come true. But, like Lotto’s last big ad, the joy wins out.

Who it’s for: Shortland Street by TVNZ Blacksand

Why we like it: Slow motion (almost) always makes things better, especially when it’s about a bloody (and very popular) finale.

Who’s it for: Spark by Previously Unavailable and Assembly

Why we like it: The future is rich territory for tech-focused brands and a whole heap of them have attempted to show us what their vision of life is. But Spark’s effort is one of the more tasteful and realistic examples and the clip is very well made (music rights issues mean you have to click here and scroll down the page to watch it).
