TVCs of the Week: 14 August's it for: Telecom by Saatchi & Saatchi and Robber's Dog

Why we like it: You'd be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't like turtles. And cute children are always popular in the world of advertising. Combine the two and you could almost confuse this for the Telecom of old. For our money, one of the year's best.'s it for: Quickflix by Y&R and Finch

Why we like it: Owls would give turtles a run for their money in the most-loved animal stakes. And you can't really go wrong with zombies these days either. Boxes ticked for amusement and explanation.'s it for: Pink Batts by DDB and Thick as Thieves

Why we like it: It's tough to follow up one of New Zealand advertising's most memorable characters, but DDB and Pink Batts have given it a good nudge to mark 50 years in New Zealand with a new take on the kids' game 'hot or cold'.

Luckily this hasn’t been a problem for a while, and our options for viewing television are always getting better, and today Freeview announced the launch of its new digital TV platform, FreeviewPlus, which allows Kiwis with the right technology to access on-demand video on new smart televisions.
