dwell cvrTrends Publishing International has teamed up with like-minded US design company Dwell to cross-market their resources—a significant boost for both companies in both markets.

In 25 years Trends has grown from a local series of kitchen and bathroom magazines to one of the largest independent media companies in New Zealand, with markets in Australia, US, China, Southeast Asia and the Gulf, and India from 2010. Dwell promotes modern home design through its magazine and digital network and product and homes collections. Sky’s the limit for advertisers and marketers in the home and commercial design industries wanting to reach customers on both sides of the Pacific.

The news this week of veteran news heads Mark Jennings and Tim Murphy launching a news service was widely celebrated across journalism circles, with many applauding the arrival of a publication dedicated to, as Murphy said, focusing on quality and “doing the news”. But was that excitement a bit pre-emptive? And – the question of the ages – how is it going to pay for it all?
