Thanks for the hospitality

We know you marcomms folk like to wine and dine from time to time. And the Lewisham Foundation Awards rewarded the best in the Auckland scene recently, so here’s some food—and drink—for thought if you’re planning to impress.

After 6,000 nominations, 65 Auckland finalists were named to compete across 16 categories. The Depot followed up its Metro Restaurant of the year win with best new venue, Coco’s Cantina won best Auckland venue, Racket Bar’s Adam Neal won emerging talent, Britomart Country club won outstanding bar and Nicola Richards from Monsoon Poon was named outstanding hospitality personality.

Pack & Company won six awards (Outstanding Coffee Establishment/Barista Rob Rivers, Shaky Isles Britomart; Outstanding Chef, Sean Marshall, Roxy; Outstanding Local, Neighbourhood; Outstanding Wine Service Professional/Sommelier Gary Olasz, Roxy; Outstanding Waiter Ian Harrison, Everybody’s; and Outstanding Wine List, Roxy).

Pack & Company kicked off 12 years ago and has expanded rapidly over the last few years and now owns 18 sites across New Zealand, with more to open in the next few months. It opened its flagship space in late 2011 within the new Imperial development in downtown Auckland, boasting Imperial Lane, Everybody’s and Roxy, and it also expanded the deck at La Zeppa.

“Due to our expansion in size, we have invested a lot of time and resource in our managers and training of staff,” says chief executive Mark Keddell, a finalist in the hospitality personality award. “We want to be able to give our customers only the best. Ultimately, we owe our wins to our staff and the quality that they bring”.
