Sweet collision takes July Ad Impact award

Whittaker's and L&P are both world famous downunder. And their delicious collision in an ad for Whittaker's L&P chocolate - billed as the accident Kiwis have been waiting for - has won the July Colmar Brunton Ad Impact Award.

If there was an award for best publicity generation, it should also go to this campaign: it got plenty of media coverage when police in Paeroa thought the car that hit the landmark L&P bottle was a real crash.

"Both brands are totally integral to the most memorable scenes of the ad, which is so important in ensuring people link the ad back to the right brand(s)," says Colmar Brunton account director Harriet Dixon.

"The branding for this ad is exceptionally strong, and is right up there with some of the best branding levels we’ve seen."
