Pak'nSave celebrates Stickman's 10 year anniversary

It’s the 10 year anniversary of Stickman for Pak’nSave, and Foodstuffs has released an ad to celebrate the milestone.

In the minute-long spot, ‘Happy Anniversary’ by FCB, the “previously unseen” audition tapes from 2008 show all the other characters that vied for the coveted position before showing Stickman’s audition – and includes the revelation that Stickman once had hair.

The others who auditioned include a vegetarian who thought the audition was for ‘saving chickens’, a “six and three quarters and very well-drawn for my age” child’s drawing, a Spanish stickman, and a stick insect.

The ad ends with the line, "we reckon we made the right choice". This is backed up with Stickman's CV which shows his credentials that helped him get the job. 

Over the past decade Stickman has become infamous for his cost-saving techniques and candid humour.

At the 2017 Stoppies, Stickman and Pak’nSave took home Best Mascot of the Year Award for which NZ Marketingasked him a few questions about his life, his work and family.
