If the last two rounds of the ORCAs are anything to go by, making the move from one agency to another bodes well for an ORCA win. Last month Clemenger BBDO’s Jon Pickersgill and Sarah Jackson picked up an ORCA just before they headed across the ditch to Sapient Nitro in Brisbane, and the July round has been won by Matt Williams and Freddie Coltart for a campaign they created just before they left Ogilvy for Draft FCB.
The campaign for child and youth mentor organisation Brothers in Arms features children delivering step by step instructions on how to cook P, grow weed and steal cars, each of the three ads closing with the tag line, “If you don’t mentor them, someone else will”.

This month’s judges (Chrissie Lahood, Cleve Cameron and Karl Fleet) were impressed by the campaign’s “authenticity and excellent use of radio on behalf of the client’s call for youth mentors”.
For their efforts William and Coltart will receive $250 each and can proudly display their limited edition Martin Horspool certificates at their new DraftFCB digs. They also go through to the Grande ORCAs, where they’ll be competing for the trip for two to the Cannes Lions. Brothers in Arms will also reap the rewards, nabbing a $5000 radio schedule.
