Oceania Healthcare taps to the beat

Oceania Healthcare’s latest ad harnesses the power of music.

Called ‘I Love Music’, the 60-second shows an old man at a rest home who is unresponsive to his family. However, a nurse sees his reaction to the musical tones of a ringing cell phone, and brings him a pair of headphones and recorded music. His reaction is one of joy and happiness, complete with tears from himself and his family members.

The ad follows on from last year’s Oceania Healthcare’s ad, also Rainger & Rolfe, featuring the same clever nurse. The ad centred around a woman called Mary who is enticed to leave her room at the rest home by a kitten adopted by the rest home.

At the time, Ant Rainger, managing partner at Rainger & Rolfe, said when the team first sat down to plan this campaign, capturing the spirit of generosity and quality of care was top of its list.

“We know the caregivers and staff at Oceania just love doing whatever they can to enhance the resident experience. The stories are almost too numerous to tell—and yet that was the task.”

Rainger & Rolfe and Oceania Healthcare also worked together back in 2015 on the ‘Her Idea’ commercial that addressed the awkward situation of placing an aged loved one into assisted care.
