NZFashion.com gets fashionably mobile

When it comes to being fashionable, iphones are high in the ranks. It’s set to get even more fashionable with the launch of a new iPhone application for NZFashion.com.

The iPhone ‘app’ replicates many of NZFashion.com’s functions by showcasing the latest NZ collections, listing stockists for NZ designers, and enabling browsing of previous collections.

Those that can’t bare being behind the fashion trends for even a split second will be happy to know the application also updates in real time, so you’ll always know when new collections are added to the website.

Owner Daniel Drupsteen  says the iPhone application is free to download from iTunes and is intended to help NZFashion.com further promote New Zealand fashion locally and overseas.

We’re really excited to be the first in Australasia to launch an iPhone application solely aimed at showcasing New Zealand fashion designers,” he says.

We have so much creative design talent in New Zealand but our relative isolation can be a challenge for designers to get their designs out there. NZFashion is all about utilising the latest in technology and ideas to make our designers and their designs accessible to anyone, anywhere, at anytime.

Good design should speak for itself, so providing a simple platform for showcasing that design has been our goal. iPhone apps are the new Twitter in marketing, so I think we’ve hit the mark at the right time.

My web development company Interactive Pulse created the application in partnership with Ark Creative, a multidisciplinary design studio that manages all design work for NZFashion.com. It’s been invaluable working with someone who understands design and the complexities of what it takes to make a user interface simple and easy to use.”
