NZ Golf and Augusto mix their sports as Ko and Dagg reunite for a spot of ‘cricket golf’

With cricket excitement reaching an all-time high in New Zealand, plenty of commercial parasites are trying to make hay while the sun shines (top prize goes to Calendar Girls for its classic plane-based ambush advertising at Eden Park). Even golf is getting in on the act, with Lydia Ko and Israel Dagg reuniting to drum up interest in the sport—and support for the Black Caps.

The last time the pair were together, they shot a four-minute video to announce Ko’s decision to turn professional. That has racked up 130,000 views. This one, once again shot by Augusto, was filmed during Ko’s recent trip to Clearwater for the NZ Open, which she won by four shots in front of massive crowds. And, according to the YouTube blurb, the sport was invented by Dagg.

NZ Golf is on a mission to increase the number of people who play the game. And having Ko become the youngest world number one ever at 17, four years ahead of Tiger Woods’ record, has been a massive boost for the sport.

In other golf news, Nike has released a funny new spot for its Vapor driver featuring Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Charles Barkley and Michelle Wie.
