Campaign by DDB shows Colorsteel homes are where the heart is

Colorsteel’s new brand campaign follows a love story with a twist – a boy, a girl and her neighbour’s Colorsteel home.

In DDB’s first campaign with Colorsteel, the minute-long spot called ‘For a home you can be proud of’ follows a couple are slowly getting to know each other – from dress up parties to going skiing –  when it turns out that the woman has been lying about which house she lives in, instead coveting her next door neighbour’s home.

In July, New Zealand Steel appointed DDB as the creative agency for both NZ Steel and its various brands including Colorsteel, Steltech and AXXIS.

Sarah Pepworth, head of marketing at NZ Steel, says the team are incredibly excited to launch the new work and looking forward to talking to Kiwis in a new way.

“A particular focus for us has been around creating deeper emotional connections with consumers,“ says Pepworth.

“With this campaign, we want to take them on a journey, and emphasise a how a roof can make the difference in a home to be proud of.  This is a creatively fresh approach that reaffirms Colorsteel’s position as a category leader.”

Kate Lines, DDB New Zealand lead business partner, says it’s been an enjoyable journey bringing Colorsteel to a position that distinguishes the brand from competitors.

“Colorsteel wanted Kiwis to understand that they don’t just transform the way your home looks but also the way it feels and how you feel about it,” says Lines.

“We wanted to convey that when you use Colorsteel you’ll have the kind of home you (and everyone else on your street) would be proud to call your own.”
