Local retailers crowned at Australasian Catalogue Association Awards

Stihl, Kathmandu, Flooring Xtra and Noel Leeming were among the Kiwi retailers recognised for their “impeccable” catalogues and letterbox marketing campaigns at the Australasian Catalogue Association Awards on Friday.

The event, held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, celebrates catalogue marketing in Australia and New Zealand. This is the second year New Zealand retailers have had a dedicated category in the awards.

“After launching the New Zealand category last year, this year we are delighted to continue to showcase their impeccable content and the creators,” says Kellie Northwood, chief executive officer of the Australasian Catalogue Association (ACA). “The ACA recognises the reputable talent in New Zealand, and tonight we get to see how brands have pushed the boundaries to drive the consumer purchasing journey.”

Kathmandu took up the Award for ‘Recreation and Leisure’ over stiff competition from Mighty Ape and Auckland Art Gallery. Nicola Horan, creative director, Kathmandu, said on the night: “The team at Kathmandu is honoured to receive the award for Recreation and Leisure in New Zealand. The core of our brand is our unique lifestyle theme, and we are so proud to be acknowledged for all our hard work. We are an in-house team who cares about our output.”

UPDATE: While there were five local winners announced for the New Zealand-specific categories, Stihl NZ was the only local organisation to win in the Cross-Tasman categories. The power tool company won in the home improvement category for its ‘Stihl Shop Autumn Catalogue’.

The catalogue was pulled together by the in-house team at Stihl in conjunction with DDB.
