Who's it for: TVNZ's Judge the Jury app/website at the AXIS awards by Contagion

Why we like it: There's almost nothing better than Bad Lip Reading, so this in-housey, piss-takey spoof ad to draw attention to an AXIS gimmick got our vote.

Who's it for: KidsCan by True

Why we like it: There are 270,000 kids living below the poverty line in New Zealand. But, as this ad shows, it'll be easier to fix if we start looking for it.

Youtube VideoWho's it for: Kiwibank by Ogilvy

Why we like it: The ten year celebration ad is a bit scmaltzy, worthy and earnest, which is a big departure for the notoriously ballsy little local bank. And even though Neil Finn wrote the song, the new version sounds a little bit like Christian rock. But it still drums home the patriotic cues and the 'we're another ten year old Kiwi standing up for New Zealanders' is a nice thought.

The Hot List 2018: vote for the media industry's best thinkers, creators and products

For our next issue of NZ Marketing magazine (on sale in June), we’re getting in on the listicle action by selecting the best of the bunch in the media business. While the editorial team puts their heads together to figure out who and what comes out on top, we need avid readers with their fingers on the pulse to vote for their favourite magazines, TV shows, radio brands, media companies, visionaries and more. Voting closes 6 June.
