Kiwi agencies remain on top of the world

The creative excellence of Colenso BBDO and DDB New Zealand has been acknowledged once again by BestadsonTV.com, with the advertising website’s 2009 rankings putting the two Kiwi agencies at the top of the international pile.

In the 8th year of the awards, Colenso BBDO took the world’s best agency trophy and DDB New Zealand was placed equal second with BBH London (DDB was ranked first last year and Colenso was runner-up). Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand rounded out the top ten, slipping from third place in 2008.

In the country rankings, Australia scored highest, with New Zealand coming in fourth behind the UK and the US; Colenso’s Nick Worthington and DDB’s Toby Talbot were ranked as the world’s best creative directors; and Volkswagen took the top marketer award for 2009, as it did in 2008, with Cadbury and Toyota next on the list.

Every TV ad that made it into BestAdsonTV’s Week’s Best section scored two points for all those involved in its creation (agency, production company, client, creatives and country), with each print, outdoor, radio and interactive ad scoring one point.
