Kan recycled for Magazine Awards

Comedian and writer Raybon Kan, who has recently returned to Kiwi shores after a stint in London, is set to dazzle the magazine industry with witty quips in his role as MC at this year’s Magazine Awards.

Kath Hurley, marketing manager at the Magazine Publishers Association, says the former lawyer has performed at international comedy festivals, including Edinburgh and Montreal, and will perform a new show in the NZ International Comedy Festival in May called Discomfort Zone. He has previously been named New Zealand’s Best Comedian, one of the 50 Most Trusted Kiwis and one of the Top 10 Worst Dressed. On TV, he’s also won IQ nerd fest ‘Test the Nation’ three times, so  she says he will be an intellectual match for the media-savvy audience.

This is the 14th year of the Magazine Awards, the only competition to celebrate all aspects of the craft of magazine publishing in New Zealand. Entries close on 13 April, and the gala presentation dinner is set to take place on 24 June at the Rendezvous Hotel.

Booking indications are being taken now. First in, best seated. Be there or be somewhere else.
