justONE heads the field at finalists stage of new NZ Direct Marketing Awards

After an industry-wide review, The NZ Direct Marketing Awards had a big refresh this year, with a new name, a new judging process and a number of new categories and individual awards resulting in a 12 percent increase in the number of overall entries. And those entries have been whittled down to the finalist stage, with justONE leading on 16, DraftFCB on 12, Colenso BBDO on eight, Loyalty NZ on six, Affinity ID, Federation Rapp Tribal on five, and Twenty and ANZ/National on four. 

“This was the most rewarding judging process I have been involved in,” says Lou Kivell, client services director, justONE, who has been a judge for six years. And Annabelle Fowler, head of marketing Australasia, Air New Zealand, regarded it as “a much stronger process this year, which I believe has given better results”.

“One of our most enjoyable tasks here at the Marketing Association is to recognise and celebrate excellence, innovation and best practice in marketing,” says Sue McCarty, chief executive of the Marketing Association. “For entrants, winning one of these awards means shining a light on the quality of their work, enhancing reputations and a further opportunity to bring agency and client teams together."

“These awards also allow us to recognise the best and brightest new talent coming through the industry by announcing the finalists for the New Zealand Post Student Marketer of the Year award," she says. This year, students had to prepare a marketing strategy and campaign execution for Bonus Bonds and ANZ.
