DDB blasts it out of the park, Colenso basks in golden glow

DDB and Liquid Studios hit it for six at Cannes last night, taking home six Cannes Lions from six finalist placings for their Arts Channel radio campaign for Sky Television. And Yellow has yet again turned to gold for Colenso.

The ‘Pollock’ spot (00429_OR_1) picked up a Gold Lion for Best Scriptwriting in the Radio Category, while ‘Van Gogh’ and ‘Rothco’ received Silver Lion Scriptwriting gongs. All three executions received a further Silver Lion Campaign Award in the Publications & Media Category.

Six from six? Eat your heart out Brendon McCullum.

Colenso BBDO also had a golden glow, picking up a Gold Lion in the Media Category for Yellow Pages ‘Yellow Chocolate’, while JWT received a Bronze Lion for ‘Kit Kat Chairs’ for Nestle. What a cornucopia of chocolately goodness.

The pickings were a little slimmer in the Outdoor Category, with four out of seven Kiwi finalists receiving Lions. JWT was a winner again with a Silver Lion for ‘Kit Kat Chairs’, while Colenso BBDO was a double winner, scooping a Silver Lion for ‘The Blob’ for the NZ Breast Cancer Foundation and a Bronze Lion for the aerial dogfight staged to promote TVNZ’s ‘The Pacific’. TBWATequilaDigitalShift also nabbed a Bronze Lion for the ‘Go Back to Pompeii’ baggage carousel campaign for Visa.
