CAANZ announce media awards finalists

The finalists for the CAANZ media awards have been announced, with OMD New Zealand (fresh from the agency of the year win at the Fairfax/AdMedia soiree), SparkPHD and Starcom NZ nominated for the big one, media agency of the year.

We could go on about the 14 nominations for best use of digital, the best use of television, print, out of home or radio contenders, the 10 agencies fighting it out for the best integrated media campaign or the 13 agencies in the running for best smart media idea. Sadly, the media awards don't feature a worst use of email category, for which Fergus 'Meat' Cleaver would most definitely be in the running after his rather unfortunate email response to a denial of sponsorship from DB Breweries Anna Isaac did the rounds yesterday.

Rogue Society and Motion Sickness explain name change to Scapegrace

A new campaign by Rogue Society Gin, via Motion Sickness, declares they have ‘made a name for themselves’ and the New Zealand company doesn’t just mean figuratively. After an international scuffle with an American brewing company that had a beer called 'Rogue', the company has rebranded to be Scapegrace Dry Gin to better promote its product overseas.
