Burgers and wine, the perfect ingredients for love? Burger Burger and Fullers hope so

Fullers and Burger Burger have teamed up to play cupid for a match-making campaign via Motion Sickness Studio. Hoping that burgers and wine are the perfect aphrodisiac, the two companies will host dates for lucky entrants looking for love.

While a collaboration between a burger restaurant and ferry service may seem a bit unconventional, creative director and founder of Motion Sickness Studio Sam Stuchbury says the companies have a cross over in their target demographics.

The campaign is on both the Fullers and Burger Burger Facebook pages where an app allows people to submit themselves, or a friend, for the bind dates.

Entrants will be asked to describe both themselves and their “type”. So far 500 people have entered to find love.

Based on their answers, individuals will be selected to take part in the ‘Single Mingle’ blind date events at New Market Burger Burger.

Motion Sickness Studio partner and digital/social media head Alex McManus says the events will be speed dating with free food and a chance to mingle.

For those who find someone they would like so on a second date with, 10 couples will be selected to go to Waiheke for the Twilight dinner tour at Batch Winery.

With the Waiheke trip on 12 February, McManus says it might be a great chance to find someone before Valentine’s day.

This is not the first time Motion Sickness Studio has helped people find love with Burger Burger. Stuchbury says previous blind dates in the burger restaurant were well received by customers with many wanting more.

“There’s definitely a need for it to come back and that’s where the idea stemmed from.”

The previous blind date event saw Burger Burger host eight blind dates which were both live streamed on Periscope.
