Botany Town Centre continues on its fluffy and feel good path

Increasingly, it’s in the interest of businesses to convey a social conscience and Botany Town Centre continues to do its utmost to show the public that it’s playing the role of responsible corporate citizen. In February it conducted a random acts of kindness social experiment where it randomly paid for customers’ purchases. Now for the entire month of May, it’s shuffled the focus to mothers by turning the 31 days in May into a celebration of mothers—a Mother’s Month, if you will.

It’s all rather fluffy and feel-good really, with Botany Town Centre senior marketing manager Desiree Clark saying:

“By honouring their spirit and devotion, we hope they will take the time to think about themselves for once and recharge the batteries.”

As part of its mother’s promotion, the centre is on the hunt for great mums in the community, with the top 10 mothers being invited to attend a high tea in late May, where they’ll each receive a goodie bag. The best mother of all will win a $500 gift card from the centre, together with a $300 Image Oasis voucher and a $200 Hoyts gift card. Nominations are made by punters explaining “why their mum is so special”, in 250 words or less.

The promotion also includes a video kiosk in the shopping centre where people can record video messages for their mums, which can then be immediately emailed. Of course social media has shown us that people like to share almost anything and everything with anyone and everyone. So, should you feel compelled, you can also share the love by uploading your recorded message to the Botany Town Centre Facebook page.

And, harking back to its February random acts of kindness initiative, $5,000 worth of vouchers are randomly being dished out to mother shoppers.
