Beacons 2018: FCB Media and PHD set for a big night

The Beacons finalists have been announced and this year it's FCB Media and PHD leading the finalists with 24 and 20 mentions on the list respectively.

No doubt FCB Media will be hoping for a repeat of last year's performance, as it was crowned Agency of the Year and won Best in Show for its innovative ‘Made From Remains’ campaign for the New Zealand Fire Service.

This year, it’s ‘An Uncomfortable Topic’ for Testicular Cancer NZ and ‘The Inequality Issue’ for Westpac NZ making an appearance among FCB Media’s finalists.

Included in PHD’s finalists are 'DB Export Beer Bottle Sand' for DB Breweries and ‘Genesis: Reading more than the Weather’ for Genesis Energy.

Further down the list, MBM has 13 finalists, Carat 11, while Mediacom and OMD both have 10.

And away from agencies, finalists for Media Business of the Year include MediaWorks, NZME and QMS.

Last year, it was Adshel that took the honour.

Winners will be announced Thursday 10 May at a gala dinner at the Viaduct Events Centre.

All finalists can be seen here.
