APN Outdoor praised for model behaviour

The first, rather large musical instalment of APN Outdoor’s ‘Friends in High Places’ series was a fairly  successful and well-attended venture (particularly given the distinct lack of B2B activity from APNO during the previous year). And the next event in the series is tapping into the Next Top Model phenomenon in an effort to discover adland’s dreamy hunks and smokin’ babes.

Advertising’s Next Top Model, which is being run to celebrate fashion week, is calling for top model nominations from the country’s agencies. So, log on to the Friends in High Places website and provide a glamour shot, either of yourself if you’re a dirty narcissist, or of some worthy contender. Thankfully, most of the entries seem to be fairly tongue in cheek so far but, perhaps not surprisingly, given the industry’s reputation for ravishing good looks and rampant superficiality, there are already a whole heap of nominations.

APN Outdoor have put up a teaser billboard this week to celebrate the launch of the competition and voting finishes on 13 September, when three gals and three guys will become finalists.

The final event on 16 September at Racket, features Brendhan Lovegrove as MC and live act Ivy Lies. Massive Kiwi celebrities will be called on to choose the best, freshest advertising meat, presumably giving extra points for any commentary on world peace. No word on whether there’s a ‘plus size’ category.
