Ads of the Week: 30 July

Who’s it for: Auckland City Mission by 99

Why we like it: No one should have to feed their children white bread for dinner – but that’s a reality for many families in New Zealand. Thousands of families in Auckland alone are living on just $6.43 for dinner every night, but with the Auckland City Mission’s help, we can change this. No one should go hungry on our watch – you can help raise the breadline here.

Who’s it for: Cystic Fibrosis New Zealand by Central Station

Why we like it: Cystic Fibrosis is a cruel lot in life, there’s no way to sugar coat it. It’s great to see CFNZ isn’t beating around the bush with this latest campaign – it’s definitely time more New Zealanders gave a f••k about this common life-limiting condition and dug into their pockets a bit more often. CFNZ’s annual appeal is August 12-18, but you can donate $3 by texting FUTURE to 4462, or visiting the website.

Who’s it for: My Food Bag by Saatchi & Saatchi

Why we like it: Targeting time-poor commuters, this campaign falls right into the lap of those of us considering our takeaway options night after night. Singling out some of New Zealand biggest companies, such as Air New Zealand and Spark, as well as various advertising agencies, this ad pokes fun at the busy schedules that rule our lives. They have our attention, at least for a moment.
