Ogilvy bags trifecta

The advertising lazy susan has spun again in early 2010, and this time it’s Ogilvy announcing three new additions to its creative department.
Joint executive creative directors Basil Christensen and Damon O’Leary and head of art Nic Hall have recruited writer Richard Loseby and art directors Martin Hermans and Darran Wong Kam to fill newly created group head positions.
“Basil and Damon are a class act and we’re thrilled to be joining them,” says Loseby. “The icing on the cake is that Martin and I get to work together again and resume what was a very successful creative partnership.”
Since their long-running partnership at DDB, Loseby has been creative director of Lowe NZ and Lowe Hunt, Sydney, while Hermans has been with Clemenger BBDO in Wellington.
Prior to a recent freelance stint, Wong Kam was a senior art director at DDB and Colenso BBDO.
O’Leary says: “These new appointments are a significant step as we re-jig our department and focus on producing great ideas for all our clients.”
Christensen says that greater integration with the agency’s interactive operation is part of the overall scheme and all three have sound credentials in the digital arena.
