Media Counsel appoints Carat

The Media Counsel, the agency which lost its PMAA accredition, has forgone an opportunity to appeal the decision.

It appointed another accredited agency Aegis (also known as Carat) to handle its bookings.

Media Counsel boss Glenda Wynyard (“street-fighting hori“) said yesterday:

We have made the decision to forego accreditation with all media owners and will be formally commencing placement through Aegis (or Carat – depending upon the accreditation they hold) from 1 November, 2009.

This means that we will still maintain our own media planning and buying teams, in-house research and pr/event management companies. It means that our bookings will need to be transferred across to the Aegis accreditation (which may be held in your system as Carat).
