Rob Limb named Track CEO, Andy Bell steps up to managing director

Track New Zealand has a new managing director in Andy Bell, whose incumbent Rob Limb is assuming the role of chief executive of Track Australia and New Zealand.

To take up the role, Bell, who has been with the agency since 2011, moves from his position as Track New Zealand general manager and will remain Auckland-based.

Meanwhile, Limb, also predominantly Auckland-based, will spend regular time in the Sydney and Melbourne offices, and will be leading the 120-strong team across Australia and New Zealand.

Marty O’Halloran, chairman and chief executive of DDB Group Australia and New Zealand, says the joint moves follow strong results Track New Zealand has achieved over the past few years, and the positive blueprint the agency has provided to the wider Track network.

“Track NZ has had such a great run over the last couple of years, and between Rob and Andy has enjoyed an embarrassment of riches in the management stakes,” says O’Halloran.

“To be able to have Rob also involved in Australia, delivering the great results Track has been experiencing in New Zealand, while Andy continues to build on the success in New Zealand is an ideal situation.”

Most recently, Track scooped the Grand Prix at the NZDM Awards earlier this month.

Track was born in 2016 when the Rapp brand rebranded. The move was the result of invest in the CRM network due to an increased focus on the integration of CRM capabilities across clients and platforms.

Since then, the agency has been growing and in March last year, Limb told StopPress it's focus is all about growing customer value.

"...we are really positioning ourselves as a customer growth agency, which is really the acquisition of customers and nurturing customers as well.”

O’Halloran adds Bell has been instrumental to the growth of Track New Zealand and deserves to move into the managing director role.

“Andy is a strategic master and it’s been wonderful watching him progress and take on more management responsibility with Rob in Australia on a regular basis.  Andy has a strong management team around him and exciting plans to push the boundaries in the New Zealand customer experience space.”

About the move, Bell says he’s excited for this new challenge and looking forward to taking the agency to new heights in 2018.

“It’s a great time to be working in this industry, more people are individually addressable, across more channels, than ever before, and customer focus has returned as a C-suite concern.”

Limb is also excited by the new challenge but adds he remains passionate about the work Track New Zealand has been doing locally.

When I saw StopPress introducing Zavy’s Social Scoreboard, I couldn’t help thinking that comparing how the top 25 traditional media advertising spenders in New Zealand have performed on social media, is great, as far as it goes; but it is microbrands that have been the greatest beneficiaries of advertising on social sites.
