NZME welcomes executive creative director Jono Coles

NZME’s Group Creative team has a new leader with Jono Coles joining as executive creative director.

Coles brings with him 16 years agency experience, having worked at Young & Shand, 99, Ogilvy, Saatchi & Saatchi and most recently Badger. There, he also held the role of creative director and led teams on Vodafone and Fidelity Life.

NZME chief marketing officer Liza McNally says Coles is an excellent addition to the team.

“Jono brings with him not only a wealth of experience but a fantastic energy and a talent to produce creative solutions that deliver results. We’re excited to see him bring campaigns to life for both our advertising partners and for our leading portfolio of NZME brands.”

About his move, Coles adds it’s awesome to join a company with so many talented people.

“There’s a real vibe here and NZME has some exciting new ventures in the pipeline too. It’s great to be close to the music again and I’m stoked to be a part of the team.”

The appointment of a new executive follows a shuffle of the existing executives last month following the announcement of a new digital business unit.

Former chief commercial officer Laura Maxwell moved into the role of chief digital officer, while former head of the agency sales team Matt Headland stepped in to fill her previous role.

Matthew Wilson was also appointed as chief operations officer, after acting as chief operations officer since the start of this year.
