Nigel Douglas takes over as OMD chief executive

Nigel Douglas has left Mediacom to take on the CEO role at OMD recently vacated by Kath Watson.

Douglas has been managing director at Mediacom for the last seven years, and before that worked as the media director at Blackwood Communications Group.

Peter Horgan, the CEO of Omnicom Media Group ANZ, welcomed the arrival of Douglas to the role.

“Nigel is an impact player who has a track record in driving business growth and building high performing teams,” says Horgan. “He leads from the front and in collaboration with Jane Stanley, Andrew Reinholds and Linus Hjoberg OMD is in great hands.”

Douglas says he decided to leave Mediacom after seven years in pursuit of fresh challenges.

“I’m excited to be getting behind the wheel of such an impressive operation, and to the growth agenda we will all drive together,” Douglas says.

Watson will remain in the business in a part-time capacity and assist with the transition of leadership.

Mediacom is yet to announce a replacement for Douglas.
