Facebook has announced that Stephen Scheeler, currently Australasian head of retail & automotive at Facebook, is the new Sydney-based managing director of Facebook Australia & New Zealand. Scheeler, already in his third year at Facebook, will take over the role immediately and will report in to Dan Neary, vice president, Asia Pacific, Facebook.

New recruit

Fifty-plus online lifestyle website and social club GrownUps has added Sara Bushell to its team.

Bushell has 14 years experience in advertising, starting as a sales coordinator at the NZH before she moved into magazine management across many titles including Canvas, Viva, TimeOut, TV Guide and Sunday Magazine. 

Moving on

MCIM chartered marketer Steven Naudé will be leaving the Marketing Association to take up a role with Massey University in Albany with its professional and executive development department. His last day is on the September 4.

His successor is Vanessa MacRae, whose current role is at the University of Auckland as its executive programmes manager.

MacRae will begin her new role on September 21.

Fairfax is in the recruitment phase for editors for Sunday and Cuisine magazines. It is understood the current Sunday editor Rebecca Kamm is moving to Radio New Zealand. Fairfax internal communications Kimberly Ross says Kamm is currently still with Fairfax and Cuisine editor, Sarah Nicholson, is moving to Mount Maunganui but will potentially remain in her current role as Fairfax group food editor. 

Fairfax editorial director magazines Kate Coughlan says: “We are looking internationally for her replacement on this iconic and market leading title, as well as domestically of course. It is a key position in the magazine industry and will be hotly contested.”

Partnering up

Ideas Shop has announced Amanda Woodbridge as its new partner.

Woodbridge joined Ideas Shop in 2008, moving quickly to associate partner role and leading the firm’s employee and change communications practice and more recently its Wellington office.

She joins the firm’s three founding partners supporting the board of directors in continuing Ideas Shop’s growth as a nationwide communications and PR consultancy firm, with offices in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

Amanda said Ideas Shop’s commitment to building women leaders was a significant factor in her decision to become partner.

Woodbridge brings more than twelve years’ agency-based and corporate communications experience to the role. She has been at Ideas Shop for over seven years, her previous role was at ANZ as its internal communications manager.

“Ideas Shop is distinct in the market for investing in its staff and having a high proportion of working parents in the team, using flexible working and part time arrangements. Based abroad

Bangalore-based InMobi has appointed Travis Plane as head of business development, driving partnerships with InMobi’s key partners, including publishers, platforms and internet companies across the ANZ region.

Plane brings experience across the technology, gaming and media space. His roles have included chief marketing officer at Quickflix and media group head at OMD. He joins InMobi from Surprise Attack, a successful indie games label start-up. He’s also held senior roles with gaming company THQ and was marketing director for Sony Computer Entertainment.

Directing the day

​Vizeum New Zealand has promoted Richard Hale to the role of agency director, where he will lead the day-to-day management of the agency in keeping with Vizeum’s dedication to senior resource, will maintain hands on leadership across all key clients. 

Vizeum New Zealand has enjoyed a recent flurry of growth consistent with the global RECMA results, with local new business wins over the past nine months including Red Bull, Huawei, and Universal Pictures New Zealand amongst others. Existing clients include the likes of Pernod Ricard, Nissan, DKSH and JB HiFi. 

Speaking of Richard’s promotion and Vizeum’s recent success, Rob Harvey, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network NZ said: “I’m hugely proud of what Richard and the Vizeum team have achieved over the last 18 months.
