New lead for HoS

Miriyana Alexander will trade her role as Fairfax Media’s head of news to become editor of the Herald on Sunday in November, the paper reports. The former deputy of the Sunday Star Times will replace Bryce Johns who is moving to a new senior editorial role, it says. Alexander has been a journalist for 24 years.

Banking on a new role

Cooper Street gets the luxury of Time

Its other publications are New Zealand Geographic, Pro Photographer, Sky Sport – the magazine and The Red Bulletin.

Devlin back in the team at Radio Sport

Martin Devlin is returning to Radio Sport’s host lineup in the nine to noon slot from next January. He’s replacing veteran Brendan Telfer, who decided not to continue in his role.

“I just love talking sport so to be back working for Radio Sport is a dream for me,” says Devlin. “I have loved my time with Hauraki and am stoked that I will still be involved going forward with some regular guest appearances.”

Telfer was one of the original hosts when Radio Sport launched 15 years ago. “This year I recorded my 40th consecutive year in sports broadcasting and I feel ready for some sort of sabbatical and maybe a bit of a change,” he says.

Devlin’s show will follow the new Crowd Goes Wild Breakfast, hosted by Andrew Mulligan and Mark Richardson.

While a new Hauraki breakfast show is yet to be announced, Devlin’s Hauraki co-host Laura McGoldrick will stay at the station.
