MediaWorks Radio has announced three changes to its station management team.

Will Maisey, Christian Boston and Matt Anderson

Will Maisey has taken up the role of content director for The Breeze Network. Maisey has been in radio for more than 13 years, starting at The Edge in 2003 before moving to Australia in 2010 as executive producer with Southern Cross Austereo. He then returned to New Zealand in 2014 to manage The Breeze Wellington and operations. Most recently, he was the assistant content director for More FM.

In this new role he will programme The Breeze on a daily basis and be involved in station strategy and direction for the station.

More FM content director Christian Boston has extended his responsibilities to include general manager of The Breeze and Magic brands. Boston received the Content Director of the Year for More FM at the New Zealand Radio Awards last year, and, under his leadership, More FM has grown significantly in the last three years.

And joining the More FM team in March as the assistant content director and network talent coach is Matt Anderson, who is currently content director for 2DayFM in Sydney.

He brings with him a huge range of skills and experience, with past roles including group content director for NZME.

About the moves, MediaWorks group content director of music, Leon Wratt, said: “More FM and The Breeze are two of our most successful and well-loved MediaWorks radio brands. With these appointments, we have further strengthened the team, the future of the stations and our great talent line-up. I know they have lots of great ideas on how to make these stations even more successful and will do a fantastic job."

A pair of additions

Sky’s entertainment content department has announced two new arrivals, with Polly Inch and Juley Edwards joining the team.

Inch (née Viccars) has returned to New Zealand to head up the broadcaster’s channels publicity team as part of the company’s publicity department.

Inch is no stranger to Sky, having worked in its Prime free-to-air team on local and international content, as well as in the channels publicity team with a focus on Sky entertainment channels. She's also had a stint at MediaWorks and has over a decade of experience in New Zealand.

Also joining the team at Sky is Edwards, who’s stepping into the newly created role of imagery manager.

Edwards is experienced in editorial, commercial and stock photography and has held a number of positions with both national and international organisations, including The Press Association in London where she ran the entertainment picture desk. More recently, Edwards was at NZME working as image research and licensing manager for the New Zealand Herald.

Her new role will see her working with internal and external partners to manage the company’s extensive programme image library as part of the entertainment content team.

TV to PR

Pead PR has appointed Konrad Kasiske to the newly created role of director of content.

The role involves developing and producing digital and video content, ensuring it’s well produced and appropriate, identifying emerging trends, in-house training and contributing to the overall product vision and strategy.

Kasiske joins from his role as foreign editor at TVNZ, which he held since 2013. Prior to that, he was a senior producer at One News.

Managing director Becky Erwood said the former foreign editor in the TVNZ newsroom fills an important role in the business.

“While content has always been king we are now firmly ensconced in a digital age that is continually and rapidly developing. Producing a wider range of content for our clients across a range of platforms is a big part of the future of our industry and a key focus for our growth,” she said.

“Specialist skills and experience are required from practitioners and hence Konrad’s appointment.”

We chat to executive creative director Jens Hertzum about giving the local format a contemporary and fun feel.
