Up the chain

Paul Wilson has been appointed to the new role of general manager at Saatchi & Saatchi. He says he will continue in his role as a “general busy body” and will still have all his client responsibilities for Toyota/Lexus and DB, but he will have more involvement with the senior leadership.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time here. The senior leadership team are really tight and everyone’s up for it, the business is in a really good position and we’re really proud of the work we’re putting out. We’re in a good place.”

A digital leader

Carat has appointed Zoe Carson as its digital director in New Zealand, a position in which she will serve as the digital lead across all Carat’s clients, working alongside the wider Carat media and strategy team, as well as the iProspect performance marketing team.

“Zoe is considered one of the brightest young minds in New Zealand’s digital media scene, and we are thrilled to have her on board. Her experience combined with her drive and vitality is a really great win for the agency and our clients alike,” says Alex Radford, the general manager of digital media at Carat.

Carson is also optimistic about the prospect of joining the team.

“Having worked in the New Zealand media market in recent years, I have always keenly observed Carat’s work,” she says. “They are an innovative and strategically led agency and I look forward to working with them to drive their digital offer.”

Zoe joins Carat from OMD where, over the last three years, she was the digital lead across Air New Zealand and Heart of the City.

OMD was asked whether a replacement had been brought in for Carson, but the agency is yet to respond.
