A new role for a new hire

Saatchi & Saatchi has announced the appointment of Amanda Chambers to the newly created role of head of digital and content.

Chambers will join in early September from her role as executive producer at Assembly. Prior to her time with Assembly, Chambers was head of TV at Ogilvy and head of digital at Oktober.

Chamber says working at Saatchi & Saatchi in a leadership role has been one of her long-term aspirations.

“I remember writing my career goals one New Year’s Day in the 90s, and here I am in 2017, realising that dream.

“I’ve worked with this group of talented people throughout my career.  The vision that Toby and Paul have for the agency moving into the future is an exciting and forward-thinking one, combining digital and TV/Content under one umbrella, and with my years of experience, I’m ready to embrace this challenge. While it’s with a heavy heart that I farewell the amazing people at Assembly, the future is bright and I’m excited to walk this new path.”

A trio of hires

Affinity ID has welcomed three new senior members to its team, with Gabby McLean joining as account director, Adrian Brickland as technical lead and Peter Gibson as digital director.

McLean joins with 13 years of working in a variety of client and agency side roles focused on retail loyalty and analytics, data-driven customer engagement strategies and platform implementation. Organisations she’s worked with include Green Cross Health, the Living Rewards loyalty program for Unichem and Life pharmacies, as well as BizRewards for The Warehouse Group. She also chairs the Digital and Direct Special Interest Group for the Marketing Association in her spare time.

Brickland stepped into his new role earlier this month, bringing with him a wealth of experience as a developer at TAG worldwide and global loyalty agency Aimia. He was a senior developer on Aimia’s Loyalty Analytics product, as well as working on scaling solutions for data analytics for major retailers such as Sainsbury’s, Aeon, Migros, Sonae, Coles and Sobeys. He’s now responsible for technical leadership of personalised marketing.

Gibson is a Kiwi expat who returned home from the UK six months ago to join the Affinity ID team. While in the UK, he held a variety of technical director roles at MSLGROUP UK, Partners Andrews Aldridge and Fantastic Thinking at the Engine Group, he now leads client and digital thinking, designing solutions for insight-led and data-driven decision making, personalisation and marketing automation.

About the three hires, co-founder and director of Affinity ID Angela Day says: “We are really pleased to have rounded out the award winning team at Affinity ID with these three appointments, and the breadth of local and global experience they bring to the team.”

A party of hires

Track New Zealand has bolstered its team with four new hires.

Anna Von Trott and Sophie Taylor are both returning to the agency to take on the roles of operations manager and senior account director, respectively.

Von Trott’s return after a two-year absence rounds out the leadership team. She was previously creative services manager of Rapp (now Track) and having worked for managing director Rob Limb since 2009, he says he’s pleased to welcome her back.

“Anna has a fantastic understanding of Track’s business and is a pleasure to work with. Her return has made an immediate impact — we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her back on the team.”

Taylor returns from London, where she worked on John Lewis Finance at LIDA since departing the agency in 2013.

About her return, Taylor said: “It’s great to be back with the team at Track especially at such an exciting time of growth.”

About all the hires, Limb says the calibre is fantastic to see and highlights how attractive the customer experience space has become.
