Ireland's eyes are smiling as Colmar Brunton announces new chief executive

Colmar Brunton has promoted Jacqueline Ireland to the position of chief executive officer, replacing Harry Papafloratos, who passed away earlier this year. She was previously managing director of Colmar Brunton Auckland.

Ireland started her career with Colmar Brunton over 16 years ago as an account director in the business research team, rising up the ranks to group account director, then director of the quantitative team and was the appointed to managing director of the Auckland business in 2002.

Prior to this she held a number of marketing-related roles including corporate marketing assistant and service marketing consultant with Reg Price & Associates.

“I am really excited by this industry and the new opportunities available to us, including further strengthening our ties with our counterparts in Australia and across the region,” she says.

Her new role will see her indirectly reporting to parent company Millward Brown’s head of Australia, creating closer networks with the Australasian team and connecting more strongly to the wider region that includes Asia Pacific and Africa.

“Jacqueline is a powerhouse, and the business will benefit from her energy and intelligence," says Colmar Brunton chairman Dick Brunton. "This promotion is thoroughly deserved.”

As a result of the change, executive director Chris Vaughan will broaden his role to management of the Auckland quantitative team.

Colmar Brunton was started in 1981 by Dick Brunton and Pauline Colmar and, with offices in Auckland and Wellington, now employs around 250 staff.
