Fleur Head to join Y&R Wellington office

Y&R has announced the appointment of Fleur Head to the role of managing director in its Wellington office.

The move, effective 1 February, will see Head once again partner with Rikki Townsley, the general manager of the agency.

Townsley says he is looking forward to working with Head again.

“Fleur’s positive impact will be felt not only immediately by the team at Y&R Wellington but also, with talent and experience of such magnitude, across the industry in the capital as 2018 unfolds.”

Head’s move follows the announcement that she would be leaving FCB, where she works as managing director. In October, she told StopPress that she was returning to her hometown of Wellington, adding that it was not an easy decision and one that was driven by family reasons.

“My kids are eight and four now, and every time I see them with their cousins I realise how important growing up around family is.”

She also told StopPress that she had been offered multiple senior roles in Wellington and now with the announcement that she is joining Y&R, she says it was a carefully considered decision.

“I wanted to work with people who are driven, passionate and challenging. An agency with momentum, but where there was still a lot of potential to continue to grow.  I'm also a massive fan of the integrated agency model but most importantly the chemistry felt right with the Y&R team.

“I'm really excited to be returning to my hometown and truly believe there's potential to make some of the world's best work from the capital city.”

She also says she’s been fortunate to learn from some of the most experienced leaders in the industry during her ten-plus years in the FCB management team and looks forward to applying some of that experience to the dynamic leadership team at Y&R.

Y&R CEO/CCO Josh Moore is equally as excited and from past experiences working with Head, calls her consummate professional who is driven, focused and a true believer that the very best creative and media product drives the very best outcomes for our clients.

“We’re delighted to have her in our team and feel that Fleur’s choice to join the Y&R family is a strong endorsement of our agency model and our team as a whole.”
