Dentsu Aegis Network ANZ chief executive Simon Ryan to leave

After nine years with Dentsu Aegis Network, Simon Ryan has resigned as chief executive of Australia and New Zealand. He has accepted a senior role outside the network.

Ryan was appointed ANZ chief executive in 2016, after holding leadership roles within Carat for seven years.

Prior to his time at Carat, Ryan was general manager of MediaCom Australia and a media/operations manager at Universal McCann.

Asia-Pacific region chief executive Nick Waters says he is grateful for the leadership Ryan has shown throughout his time with Dentsu Aegis Network.

“During his time Simon has driven extensive change for the Group, positively impacting culture, collaboration and commercial performance.”

Ryan says his time with the network has been rewarding.

“I have worked and collaborated with great people to perform challenging and inspiring work, to grow the business and triple its size, over the past nine years. It’s now time for me to embrace the next challenge in my life and focus on a different business.”

Ryan will continue to lead the business while a global internal and external search is underway to identify a replacement for the chief executive role. A final departure date will be agreed to when a replacement has been found.
