A little bit more about the role:
We’re currently on the hunt for a new and savvy Sales & Marketing Coordinator to join our small but mighty team based in Auckland. The reality is that being a member of the Val Morgan team involves hard work but is also very rewarding. Our team are at the cornerstone of the business, we run a slick operation and we’re committed to providing our clients with the most innovative advertising solutions by bringing their experiences to life.
Reporting directly to the New Zealand Sales Director, you will be looking to take the next step in your career. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide strategic sales and creative marketing opportunities across Val Morgan’s channels. We’re looking for a highly motivated self-starter who thrives in a sales environment and is excited to build and support new and existing business. Other key responsibilities include:
> Identifying opportunities for business growth through in-depth knowledge of the client base, market, media industry and competitors
> Proactively presenting opportunities for potential advertisers
> Management of website, compiling weekly newsletter and management of social media accounts, updating content regularly
> Supporting the sales team with programming across the portfolio on a weekly basis
> Supporting the development of proposals including activations and presentations
> Working with exhibitors and distributors to organise trade nights
>Scouting key trade publications for new commercials, market intel or case studies for Brandfit strategy
Who are we looking for?
It goes without saying you’ll be a top performer and creative thinker. You are highly tenacious, focused and have a creative flair and passion for marketing. We’re also looking for someone with:
> Degree qualification in Business, Marketing, Communications or similar preferred
> Excellent presentation skills with a high attention to detail
> Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines with accuracy
> Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
> Team player, welcoming ideas from others and prepared to actively share information
> Personal style characterised by collaboration, confidence, self-motivated and high energy
> Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
> Results and achievement orientated; ability to achieve results in a fast-paced competitive environment
> Can do attitude

Who’s it for: HelloFresh by Augusto
Why we like it: The latest player in the New Zealand meal-kit market, HelloFresh, has introduced itself by focussing on its customers and their feedback. The documentary style ad follows an unsuspecting customer Jaco while he’s cycling to work, in the park with his kids, or making his Hello Fresh decisions. A nice mix of humour and information about what the company offers.
Who’s it for: Warehouse Stationery by DDB
Why we like it: Warehouse Stationery takes the printed family mementoes to a new level with a visiting grandchild bombarding Ma with numerous gifts with their own face plastered on them. It definitely showcases the range of printing options – from cat bowls to fridge magnets to snow globes – to make your loved ones happy (and have a laugh) this Christmas. We’d like to see Ma feature in some more Warehouse Stationery ads.
Who’s it for: Barkers by Switch
Why we like it: While the beautiful shots of New Zealand would make anyone want to get up and adventure, we like that there’s a deeper meaning to this new campaign. With Barkers stepping up to be transparent about its environmental impact we’ll have to wait and see how this translates into action and change, but it’s a good place to start.
