Direct marketing goes postal, plays with tools in workshop

The next round of New Zealand Post Targeted Communications’ hugely popular (and free) direct marketing workshops is upon us and marketers are urged to book their places as soon as possible to avoid a lifetime of bitter regret, low self esteem and other forms of emotional damage.

Aimed at agencies, marketing departments or anyone planning mail-based communication, the free workshops are designed to provide a comprehensive working knowledge of the intricacies of direct mail – from direct mail processes, to data and consumer insights and innovation – as well as a guide to working with New Zealand Post.

The next workshop is taking place at 9am, Thursday 6 May, at the Media Centre in Parnell. Guest expert Michael Goldthorpe from TBWATEQUILA will show how his team turns insights from data and research into simple creative ideas and fully integrated campaigns. Using examples from ASB, 2degrees and others, Michael will show how disruption, media artistry and a wee bit of magic can come together to exceed clients’ business targets.

And for the forward planners out there, the June workshop will take place on 10 June, featuring Matt Hampton, senior art director at AIM Proximity.

Jackie Shaw, client solutions manager for agencies and integrated media at New Zealand Post Targeted Communications, says all of the monthly workshops have sold out this year, so advises keen marketers not to muck about but get in quick to book their places.
