The brand makeover Little Giant kicked off late last year for Marlborough Wine has culminated in a new site that showcases place as much as product.
The agency was spoiled for choice with images of southern valley vineyards, Kiwi scenery and the team at the family-run wine wholesaler and distributor, so wanted to create a rich desktop experience, says managing director Mark Hurley.
"They came back to us with the imagery that was so rich we wanted to make the photography the central point," says Hurley.
That created the challenge of ensuring pages didn't take a long time to load, which was overcome using progressive loading.
The PHP-based site incorporates Silverstripe's CMS, which allows Marlborough Wine staff to add new wines, brands or staff details as required.
"They wanted it to be simple and not have a lot of admin," says Hurley.
Users can also browse wines by brand or region in the front end.
The latest website continues a fizzy theme for Little Giant, which recently developed a site for this year's Beer Festival.
