BBCA and Whybin\TBWA employ cutting edge fart insertion technology to draw attention to a serious issue

While Apple is busy showing off some of the esoteric ways you can use its smartphone, downloading an app that could make fart sounds is, for many, still one of the most attractive features of this technology. And Beat Bowel Cancer Aotearoa (BBCA) and WhybinTBWA have decided to embrace the entertainment value of anal whisperings with bumsarefullofsurprises.org.nz, a website that lets the public add fart sounds to any YouTube video.

According to a release, Bowel cancer kills as many New Zealanders every year as breast and prostate cancer combined, but if detected early enough, there’s a survival rate of 75 percent. So, to make some noise around the issue and inspire check-ups, it developed a way to insert farts throughout a clip (AKA a ‘fartbomb’). They could then share their creations with friends and family through social media and each video ended with the charity’s message.

Extra points for the simple/creepy expanding and contracting ‘asterisk’ logo.
